WIP Iberia is founded by a group of seasoned and dedicated Portuguese and Spanish Women professionally connected to the pharmaceutical industry:
Luisa F. Ruiz Gatón, PhD
WIP Iberia Committee Coordinator
Luisa is a Pharmacist with a strong passion for science, innovation and people.
She has been always involved in pioneering projects in the area of Nanomedicine and Advanced Therapies. She is currently working in gene therapy in the Quality department of Viralgen Commercial Therapeutics.
Luisa believes that working in Pharma and Biotech companies it is possible to have a deep and positive impact on our society. Moreover, she advocates the importance of diverse talent in organizations, as well as to highlight female role models who can inspire and support future professionals.
Rosario Fonseca
WIP Iberia Committee Member
A dynamic business leader. She firmly believes that humanizing the workplace not only enhances productivity but improves results. Today, she puts this philosophy into action each day as Managing Director at CordenPharma.
Vanda Vicente
WIP Iberia Committee Member
A global spirited and progressive-thinking woman with consolidated experience in pharmaceutical business and project management, delivering outstanding results in all projects she has been involved in over the past 10 years.
Vanda is passionate about cross-cutting themes such as innovation, high-performing teams, emotional intelligence, and the digital. She is a firm believer of women’s potential and a true advocate of meritocracy.
Margarida Henriques

Margarida is Pharmacist and currently develops her activity as a Production Director.
As business leader, she advocates for a growth mindset, both at individual and organizational levels. She believes that empowering team members is the key to unlock their potential. Providing a sense of autonomy and ownership over their work, individuals are more motivated to take initiative, think out of the box and develop innovative solutions.
Sónia Castanheira
WIP Iberia Committee Member
Sónia is a seasoned professional, with a background in chemical engineer and long experience in the pharmaceutical industry, where she has led Project Management, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs departments across Portugal and Spain. Passionate about the power of collaboration and continuous learning, Sónia believes these are the cornerstones of innovation and resilience, empowering both individuals and organizations to thrive in challenging times. Sónia advocates that talent has no gender, that it should be recognized and unveiled to inspire and guide others in their professional journeys.
